Our Plains FCA and Athletics cleaned their stretch of Adopt A Highway this Morning. Thanks to Coach Bunton for organizing this and setting it up!! Also thanks to Coach Martinez and Coach Ortega for helping out. A special thank you to Darla Welch for providing the kids Gatorades!

Interior Design students took a field trip today and walked through each phase of the home building process with Lifetime Homes builder, Roland Herrera, former co-worker of Ms. Bunton. Roland provided the students with lunch and T-shirts. Then, Ms. Bunton’s friend, Amber Richardson, a designer on the Buddy Holly Hall, toured the students through the entire facility. They learned about all the design elements used from the exterior, staircase, auditoriums, to backstage dressing rooms and restaurant. #plainsproud

Lisa Redekopp was nominated for a Cowgirl Complement by SEVERAL of her students! The students said, "I think Mrs. Redekopp should get the kindness award because she gave me a sketchpad and pens after I had a bad week," "She has helped me with my math," "She is very nice and helps with anything I need," and "She has helped me with math. She has been a life saver!" Several other students and Mr. King also signed the sheet that was turned in! Wow! Thank you Mrs. Redekopp for helping to make Plains ISD a special place! #PlainsProud

Mrs. Stephens has been nominated by a parent for a Cowgirl Complement! The parent told us, "Mrs. Stephens has taught two of my children. She is an excellent teacher. Mrs. Stephens holds the students to a higher standard. I know that my kids are going to have to work hard in her class to make A's, but I appreciate that she is actually teaching them what they need to know. I don't want for my kids to just ""get grades""; I want them to LEARN the material they need to learn. Mrs. Stephens is offering them a wonderful education; while being fair in her policies, procedures, and grading. Mrs. Stephens is the STUCO sponsor, a One-Act Play Director, a class sponsor, is on several committees, and is supportive of all extra-curricular activities. Congratulations to Zoey Diamond!!! Zoey was 4th medalist today at District Golf Tournament and will advance to Regionals!!! Way to go Zoey!!!

Congratulations to our Girls and Boys Golf teams today. They both placed 3rd at the District Tournament! Good job Cowgirls and Cowboys!

We just want to say great job to all of our JV and Varsity tennis players! They all competed very well at District and represented Plains High School well!!!

****UPDATE**** 6:35pm At this time the request for voluntary evacuation has been lifted. Those affected may return home with caution. According to Plains VFD there are still multiple fires in the immediate areas surrounding NW Yoakum County. This is still an active situation with multiple agencies on scene monitoring conditions. Further updates will be posted on the Yoakum County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page as new information.
