Congratulations to Gavin Broome for being invited and attending the Built Ford Tough Player of the Year Banquet at the Dallas Cowboys Headquarters "The Star" in Frisco Texas. Only Players who won the Built Ford Tough Player of the Week were invited. Some of the States top football players were in attendance along with a few Dallas Cowboy players and former players. The Plains Girls' powerlifting team did a great job today at the Brownfield powerlifting meet! Emily Longoria placed 5th Erendy Zavala placed 3rd Xiomara Erazo placed 3rd Aileen Perez placed 4th Ryleigh Mendez placed 10th As a team, the girls finished 9th! The Plains Boys' powerlifting team had a good day today competing at the Brownfield powerlifting meet. Aiden Nelms placed 5th Daniel Longoria placed 6th Maddox Murrell placed 9th Brady Robles placed 14th Jesus Caro placed 12th Gael Lozano placed 14th Jonathan Badillo placed 6th Israel Contreras placed 7th Romeo Castillo placed 8th The boys placed 18th as a team. It was a great day to be a Plains Cowboy and Cowgirl! TPW!

Brownfield Powerlifting meet! #plainsproud

Plains High School is proud to announce the December Students of the Month, Gabriela Hernandez and Kyson Bunch. Gabriela Hernandez is the junior daughter of Arthur and Stephanie Hernandez. Gabriela participates in varsity cheer, one act play, and UIL math and journalism. Gabriela is also the copy editor of the school newspaper, The Giddy-Up. Gabby is an active member of the Hope Squad, where she gets to inspire and motivate students everyday. Gabriela is a member of National Honor Society, and she is also vice president of the junior class. After high school, Gabriela plans to go to Texas Tech and eventually become an architect. Gabriela is a strong, well-rounded student. One of her teaches said that "she puts in the work daily to make sure she is at the top of the class, all while having a smile on her face." Kyson is the freshman son of Steven and Candace Bunch. He participates in math UIL, debate, one act play, and is a member of FFA. He is the treasurer of his class and is a member of the Student Council. Kyson enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends and family. One of Kyson's teachers said that "he does great work in class and always does just what he is supposed to." Plains High School is proud of these students and their hard work. We are excited to call them our Students of the Month. #plainsproud

Late Start Schedule for 7th though 12th grade. 5th and 6th grade report to first period, teachers will have their bell schedule.

Due to the possibility of ice on the roads affecting safe travel, Plains ISD will have a 2-hour delayed start time on Friday, January 10.

Plains Elementary art teacher, Ashley Conde, is the recipient of the Yoakum County Connection art grant. Ms. Conde will be using the $1000 grant to implement ceramics in the elementary classrooms. Plains ISD appreciates the support from Yoakum County Connection and to Ms Conde for bringing the arts to our young students.
