Plains High School is excited to announce the October Students of the Month, Kaylie Hays and Brady Robles. Kaylie is the junior daughter of Ben and Christine Hays. She is involved in the Cowboy Band, where she serves as drum major, One Act Play, National Honor Society, and Student Council. She enjoys playing the flute, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family. Her future plan is to go to college and become either a teacher or radiologist. She would also like to travel around Europe one day.
One of Kaylie's teachers said that Kaylie is "always a willing participant in class, and she brings valuable insight into our class discussions. She is always prepared and does her absolute best in everything she does."
Brady Robles is the junior son of Amanda Robles and Bill Robles. He participates in UIL journalism, One Act Play, and football. He is also a member of National Honor Society. After high school, Brady plans on attending either Texas Tech or South Plains College to pursue a medical degree. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
One of Brady's teachers said that "he is the first one to respond when we discuss things in class, and he is truly a joy to be around. He prepares daily to be successful and obviously holds himself to a high standard."
Plains Highs School is proud of Brady and Kaylie and all their accomplishments. They are deserving of the honor of Student of the Month!

Congratulations to Ms. Bunton! Ms. Bunton received a grant of more than $1600 from Lea County Electric. Teachers receive the prize for creative classroom-based learning initiatives. The funds are meant to help with projects that don't normally receive school money. Grants are for classroom projects, not field excursions or professional development. Ms. Bunton intends to paint a mural on the East Gym's visiting side with her award. We're excited to watch what her class creates. Ms. Bunton, congratulations! #plainsproud
