Kiley Barrera-Genuinely cares about his athletes/students. He gets involved when he knows something isn’t right, and always encourages.
Sawyer Hamilton-He taught me that things are gonna suck but to be tough and attack those things head on no matter what.

Kaylee Luka- It’s because of her that I will be graduating earlier than planned. She has pushed me to do my best and in turn has made a difference to me.
Doraelia Tarango – She has worked so hard for me to be able to graduate this year, she has done so much for me, and I thank her for that.

The Plains High School Student of the Month for March is Kate Franklin. Kate is the senior daughter of Stacy and Amanda Franklin. She is a member of Student Council, where she serves as President. She also serves as Vice- President of both the National Honor Society and the Plains FFA Chapter. She is a participant in UIL Academics,
4-H and FFA Livestock Judging, and FCA. . Kate is also the news editor for ‘The Giddy-Up’, the Plains High School newspaper. Kate is a member of the Hillside Church of Christ, and she enjoys reading, watching Texas Tech sports, playing guitar, writing songs, being Mrs. Robles’ kindergarten aide and spending time with her friends. In the fall, Kate will attend Lubbock Christian University to major in Early Childhood Education and minor in English. She hopes to be a 3rd or 4th-grade writing teacher.
Plains High is proud of Kate and her accomplishments. One of her teachers said that Kate "always has a positive attitude and works hard. She is encouraging of others when they are down and acknowledges others for their accomplishments. She is a great example for our students."
We are proud to call Kate Franklin our Student of the Month!


Today, FCA help out our community by cleaning our highways. They also had some time for fellowship. Building and taking pride in our community #plainsproud



Due to District track next week. On Monday only, we will switch 1st period and 8th period for grades 5th-12th grade. This will allow coaches time to work with HS athletes before district and JH not to miss 8th period due to JH District Track on Monday.


Great Day for the Cowboy & Cowgirl Track Teams at the Sudan Son Qualls Relays. Cowboys won the Team Championship and Cowgirls placed third. #PLAINS PROUD #TPW

Kylee Cross- She has always pushed me to do my best and appreciate the art that I am able to make. She is upbeat and positive. She makes her class fun and amazing to be a part of. She always gives her students positive reinforcement. She is one of my favorite teachers.
Abrian Soto- Mrs. Bunton has contributed greatly to who I am and how I grade myself. She has made me realize my worth and how much work I put into my passion. Mrs. Bunton always makes me strive for success, and for that I am truly grateful. I really enjoy her class because she knows that I am capable to conquer any challenge! Once again, I believe that with Mrs. Bunton’s help I would not believe in myself as much.
