You Make a Difference recognition goes to Mrs. Stephens. She was recognized by Alexis Garza and Emly Longoria! Alexis Garza- Mrs. Stephens made a difference in me because she taught me well, she never gave up on me when I was struggling through school. I want to appreciate her for the hard moments we had with each other and I want to also say that she is the best teacher. Emily Longoria -She's a really good teacher and she's taught me a lot. I just really appreciate her.

Mallory Bunch was selected to participate in the 2023 Tx 4H Capitol Leadership Experience and represented Plains HS as well as Yoakum Co 4H and Sandy Land UWCD at this event.   Additionally, she was asked to give an introductory speech for Mr. Judd Messer, Vice President of the Advanced Power Alliance in Texas who addressed the group on Monday.  (only a select few were chosen for this honor) Great job Mallory, way to represent our community. #plainsproud

Come support our Cowboy Theater's OAP performance by attending their public performance on Monday, March 6th at 6 pm in the auditorium. There are some scary scenes and words used that can be unsuitable for the younger audience. Hope to see you there.

Plains ISD has many teachers/staff members that touch the lives of our students. As a small sign of appreciation, our secondary students have been asked to recognize staff or teacher that have made a difference in their life. We had an overwhelming response! So, each week we will recognize these teacher/staff members that have made a difference in the lives or our students. Our first teacher being recognized by Jade and Lesly, is Couch Cunnigham AKA Coach C! Jade Guetersloh “Why I chose coach C is when I do wrong, she disciplines me and corrects me to do right and tells me how good I’m doing. She encouraged me to love the sports I play and made me love them even more. I love to be in your class and have conversations with you. Love you coach C 🤍! Lesly Avila “I chose Coach C because every time I am down, she’s always bringing me up. She may be a teacher, but we still have laughs together! She is hard working and very independent! I look up to her a lot! This is her first year here at Plains, yet it feels like I know her so much already! When she’s out on court with me and my teammates she is very encouraging and does an amazing job. If I hadn’t met Coach C I don’t know how bad, I would be with my sports. Thank you, Coach C, for always being there for me and my teammates/classmates, thank you for always brightening up the room when you walk in. We love you Coach C! ❤️”

Boys played their first tournament today at Yoakum County Golf Course. Boys finished 10th out of 17 teams.

The jr high calculator team had the highest team score in 2A at the Smyer TMSCA Meet. We are proud of their hard work and how they performed today. Chloa Bearden, Emmie McKenzie, Fernando Castillo, Macy Bunton, and Kyson Bunch qualified for STATE! We are looking forward to see who else will qualify next week!
