The Plains High School Student of the Month for September is Connor Cathey. Connor is the junior son of Daniel Cathey and April Cathey. He likes spending time with his friends and family, and he enjoys school, where he was on the A honor roll for the first 6 weeks. Connor plans to attend Angelo State University upon graduation to major in business.
Connor's teachers are proud of his achievements. One teacher said that he is "hard-working, self-motivated, and respectful", while another said that he "comes in, works hard start to finish, and is a leader."
We are proud of Connor and happy to recognize him as the Student of the Month.

Bio
My name is Melina Barrientos. I am married to David Barrientos, and we have a daughter, Natalia Barrientos. She is married to our wonderful son-in-law, Isaiah Rodriguez. I have 13 years of teaching experience in kindergarten, first and third grade. My favorite thing to do is spending time with family, especially going on vacations with my daughter and son-in-law. I have three chiweenies and I love fostering dogs before they go to their forever homes. God has blessed me and my family so much. I am excited to be part of Plains ISD. I look forward to meeting the great employees in the district.
