The January Student of the Month is Marissa Garcia. She is the senior daughter of Melissa and Richard Garcia. Marissa is very involved in extracurricular activities. She plays basketball, volleyball, and tennis. She shows animals, is a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is a class officer. She is a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoys hanging out with friends and watching movies with her parents. Marissa plans to attend West Texas A&M in the fall to major in exercise science in the hopes of becoming a basketball coach. One of Marissa's teachers said, "Marissa is hard-working, self-driven, and determined to do her best. It has been a privilege to have her in my program." Plains ISD is proud of Marissa and her accomplishments!
