Plains Secondary would like to welcome Gunner Gonzales. He will be our new Theater teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. #plainsproud Bio ​I grew up in a house full of football and softball coaches. During high school, I played football and soccer, but I decided that I wanted to pursue a degree in theatre performance. As I continue my experience in theatre, I am learning new ways to tell stories through performance. I hope to continue learning and developing as an artist, so I can cooperate with others to put on meaningful stories for audiences.

My name is Elaine Truitt and I currently live in Morton, Texas with my husband of 17 years, James, and our dog Amp. I'm a native West Texan and have spent the majority of my teaching career in this area. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and a variety of outdoor activities, especially fishing. I am a passionate Band Director with 13 years experience, 4 of those in a head director position. ​​I am excited to be part of Plains ISD.

Mrs. Martha Lopez was nominated for a Cowgirl Compliment!! Her two student nominators said, "She is always trying to make everything clean, straight, and tidy" and "Mrs. Martha deserves a compliment because she cleans our classrooms and hallways very well. She always has a smile on her face and a nice word to say to us. She makes our day!" Thank you Mrs. Lopez for keeping our building clean and making Plains a special place!! #plainsproud

Mr. Cleveland and Mr. Foote both received a Cowboy Compliment! Mr. Cleveland's nominator said, "This guy cares about his students and his students care about him. Every interaction I had with Chris he was either doing something for his students or bragging about them." Mr. Foote's nominator said, "Mr. Foote worked with my wife and I to help a student show her pigs. So very helpful no matter the need. Definitely went above and beyond his job duties." She has high expectations for her students and puts in the work to make sure they exceed those expectations. She is kind, loving, and fun! She truly cares for each and every student. I can see the love her students have for her on their faces. She is not only a rock star in 2nd grade, but she is always willing to lend a helping hand to staff members, tutor other grades, and help out with high school UIL. Ms. Ashley Conde was nominated for a Cowgirl Compliment. Her nominator says, "Ms. Conde holds herself to a high degree of excellence. She is consistently working to improve her skills and teaching strategies. Ms. Conde cares about these kids and wishes only the best for them. She has been a great mentor to me personally and it has been wonderful having her as a co-teacher even though we are in separate realms of the school. She also handles the GT program and is passionate about seeing these students grow. Ms. Conde is very deserving of such a compliment!"
